The Challenge

Tell people about the advantages and power of the TripAdvisor community. Especially in less mature markets where TripAdvisor is more new.

The Solution

TripAdvisor had achieved all of its incredible success organically as well as through the use of limited digital media tactics over the last 13 years. But the category leader had also seen its competitors enjoying success using TV, but had never attempted to utilize the time tested media vehicle itself.

TripAdvisor has a tremendous brand benefit and advantage over other travel sites which is the power and transparency of its community. TripAdvisor users can rely on accurate unvarnished intel generated by its 100mm+ users worldwide. People booking a trip can in effect know before they go because the community will take them there with their accurate and honest reviews. The benefit is that users can feel almost as if they had been there already themselves. We created a TV spot that is almost a TripAdvisor brand 101 for markets that weren't as knowledgeable about the TripAdvisor brand and its powerful features and benefits.
